The Heartlands’ project is a community-led vision to transform Cornwall’s most derelict urban area into a truly inspirational cultural landscape. It celebrates our local traditions of innovation and creativity and helped Pool to be a much enhanced place to live, work and play. In November 2007, Cornwall’s Heartlands Project received £22.3million in funding from the Big Lottery Fund’s “Living Landmarks” program to transform this area of Cornwall.
Hugo Bugg worked in conjunction with the Heartlands team and designers from Cornwall County Council to develop a new village green for Pool. The project is due to be completed towards the end of 2012.
